Prof. Dr. Ann-Marie Kaulbach serves as Professor of Civil Law and Digitalization at the European University Viadrina, holding the Chair of Civil Law and Digitalization since her appointment on June 1, 2023. She is a dedicated academic who emphasizes both teaching excellence and innovative research at the intersection of civil law and digital technologies.
Her research focuses on the adaptation of civil law frameworks to digital transformation, including digital contracts, data protection implications, and legal informatics. She actively disseminates knowledge through educational content such as the podcast "Something with Law" and the YouTube series "The German Civil Code in 10 minutes," which provides concise explanations of private law concepts for students and practitioners.
Prof. Kaulbach leads a research team currently recruiting academic assistants and PhD students. During the summer semester 2025, her chair will be represented by PD Dr. Bernd Scholl.
