Ann Eklund is an Associate Senior Lecturer at Halmstad University's School of Business, Innovation and Sustainability. She is part of the TRAINS research programme and focuses on applied research in wildlife conservation and management in multiuse landscapes, particularly addressing human-carnivore interactions and conflict mitigation. Her work includes studies on large carnivore ecology in Sweden, interventions to prevent wildlife damage to domestic animals, and communication strategies for sustainable consumption.
Research projects include analyzing temporal patterns of wildlife damage, human perceptions of carnivores, and evidence-based solutions for mitigating crop damage by geese. She co-leads the EviWild initiative, an open research portal synthesizing evidence on wildlife damage prevention methods.
Eklund teaches conservation biology and biodiversity on the university’s bachelor’s programme and emphasizes translating research into actionable insights for stakeholders. She holds an ORCID-ID and actively engages in interdisciplinary collaboration across ecological and social science domains.
