Ann C. Klassen is a Research Professor (part-time) at Drexel University's Department of Community Health and Prevention, within the Dornsife School of Public Health. She previously held roles as a professor at Dornsife and associate professor at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her work focuses on reducing health disparities through interventions addressing social determinants of chronic diseases, employing GIS-based spatial analysis and mixed methods.

Research Interests: Combines global health, health equity, and community engagement. Key areas include vaccine hesitancy, environmental exposures, urban health, and interventions targeting marginalized populations through participatory approaches. Expertise includes spatial analysis and qualitative methods.
Recent Articles: Recent work evaluates media campaigns for sodium reduction in Philadelphia, explores vaccine hesitancy in Tajikistan, and examines disparities in mammogram access for women with intellectual disabilities. These studies highlight her focus on public health interventions and equity across diverse populations.
Funding & Grants: Secured grants from NIH, CDC, Department of Defense, and Susan G. Komen. Directed NIH-funded training programs in cancer research. Currently co-leads a mixed-methods research group at NIH's OBSSR.
Service: Advisory roles include NIH study sections, Breakthrough Britain (cancer funding), and Maryland's HPV Vaccine Policy Taskforce. Served on the steering committee for the 2007 Global Breast Cancer Conference.
