Ann Blair serves as the Carl H. Pforzheimer University Professor of History and Director of Undergraduate Studies at Harvard University, where she teaches courses on book history and the intellectual and cultural history of early modern Europe with emphasis on France and Northern Europe during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
Her research centers on scholarly practices in early modern Europe, including note-taking, composing, and information management, as evidenced by her monographs on Renaissance science and pre-modern reference systems. Current work focuses on amanuenses and authorship through a book adaptation of her 2014 Rosenbach Lectures at the University of Pennsylvania.
