Ankur Srivastava

Ankur Srivastava is a Research Fellow and Visiting Scholar at the School of Life Sciences, University of Technology Sydney (UTS), where he leads research in the Ecosystem Dynamics Health and Resilience Lab. His primary focus is developing Himawari satellite data products for sub-daily terrestrial ecosystem monitoring under the Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network (TERN) project. He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Newcastle (2021), with a thesis on climate-soil-vegetation interactions. Previously, he served as a Casual Academic at the University of Newcastle (2017–2021) and a Postdoctoral Research Associate (2021). His academic credentials include a B.Tech. in Agricultural Engineering (2014) from Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University and an M.Tech. in Land and Water Resources Engineering (2016) from IIT Kharagpur.

His research interests span agricultural engineering, digital agriculture, ecohydrology, and remote sensing. As a Guest Editor for Remote Sensing (2022–2023) and Water (2021–2023), he has shaped scholarly discourse in water resources and environmental modeling.

In grants and collaborations, his TERN project emphasizes fine-resolution vegetation phenology products. His work bridges remote sensing, hydrological modeling, and ecosystem dynamics, with applications in semiarid regions and sustainable land use.
