Anke Hilt is a Lecturer in German at the School of Modern Languages and Cultures, University of Glasgow. Prior to her current position, she taught German at the Goethe-Institute in Glasgow and online with the Goethe-Institute London. She holds a degree in German and Theatre & Film Studies from Bochum University and brings prior professional experience as a Producer and Specialist Researcher in the film and television industry.

Research Interests: Her work focuses on foreign language acquisition through AI integration and film-based pedagogy, with emphasis on learner motivation in ab initio contexts. She investigates authentic assessment methods, language teaching methodologies, and innovations in online/blended learning environments to enhance beginner language education.
Teaching: As co-convenor of German Level 1 (Beginners), she delivers undergraduate instruction across German language courses (Levels 1-2, Honours) and German Cultural Studies, applying her expertise in applied linguistics and film-based teaching approaches.
