Anjali Kemwal serves as Senior Lecturer (Professional Practice) and Pro Bono Director at Brunel Law School within the College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences at Brunel University London. She joined Brunel in June 2018 after managing pro bono programmes at The University of Law (formerly College of Law) for several years, bringing extensive practical legal experience to her academic role.
Her educational background includes:
- LLB from the University of Warwick
- Qualification as a solicitor in 2004
Ms Kemwal's professional practice centers on social welfare law and clinical legal education, with deep expertise in public interest law and community legal services. She specializes in bridging academic theory with real-world application through student-led pro bono initiatives, focusing on enhancing access to justice for underserved populations while developing practical skills in future legal professionals.
As Pro Bono Director, she oversees the Brunel Legal Advice Centre's operations and student volunteer coordination. The centre provides supervised legal assistance to the public in housing, employment, and welfare benefits law, functioning as both a community service hub and experiential learning platform for law students.
