Anja Fischer

Anja Fischer is Professor of Management Science at TU Dortmund University's Department of Business and Economics since April 2021. She develops mathematical models for optimizing complex industrial systems in production and logistics.

Her research specializes in: 1) Nonlinear combinatorial optimization for supply chain networks 2) Algorithmic approaches to factory layout planning 3) Stochastic modeling of production systems 4) Computational decision support tools for operations management. Applications span manufacturing, transportation, and resource allocation problems.

Dr. Fischer obtained her PhD in Mathematics from TU Chemnitz (2013) after completing business mathematics studies. She held prior academic positions at University of Göttingen and TU Dortmund, following postdoctoral research at TU Chemnitz. Her work bridges theoretical mathematics with industrial engineering applications.
