Anja Dreschke serves as Professor for Media Anthropology / Method Innovation at 50% capacity within the Faculty of Media Studies at University of Siegen. Her office is located in room AH-A 122 at Herrengarten 3, 57072 Siegen, and she maintains regular contact through her university email address.
Her research spans the theory and practice of audiovisual media with particular focus on experimental ethnography, documentary practices, and artistic research. Dr. Dreschke actively creates films, photo essays, video installations, and multimodal digital publications that bridge academic inquiry with creative expression. She currently serves as co-speaker of the Media Anthropology Working Group at the German Society for the Study of Media and Culture (DGSKA), demonstrating her leadership in the field.
As a curator, she works across ethnology, media, film, and art for film festivals, museums, and cultural institutions. Her professional activities integrate academic scholarship with public engagement, creating meaningful connections between theoretical frameworks and practical applications in media anthropology.
