Anitta Kynsilehto is an Associate Professor (tenure track) affiliated with the Unit of Social Research and Tampere Peace Research Institute at the University of Tampere. Her research focuses on migration, peace studies, and everyday forms of violence, particularly in Finland and Chile. She investigates issues like migrant legal frameworks, post-welfare state dynamics, and the intersection of feminist critique with geopolitical conflicts such as the Gaza crisis.
Key research interests include:
- Border politics and state registration systems
- Everyday peace and violence in marginalized communities
- Human rights advocacy through interdisciplinary approaches
- Critical analysis of hybrid warfare framing in migration policies
Her recent work highlights trends in:
- Legal illegality production mechanisms in Finland
- Gendered perspectives on conflict zones like Gaza
- Transnational collaborations in peacebuilding initiatives
Dr. Kynsilehto has held visiting scholar positions at Universidad Pablo de Olavide de Sevilla, Universidad de Barcelona, and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She co-leads the INCASI2 project on socioeconomic inequality measurement and organized the 18th Etmu Conference on post-crisis dynamics.
