Anita Zednik, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Markets and Strategy, Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Wien). Her research focuses on Experimental Economics, Voting Behavior, Social Preferences, and Cultural Economics. She holds a PhD in Economics from Macquarie University (2014), an MSc in Environment and Bio-Resources Management from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (2007), and an MA in Business Administration from Vienna University of Economics and Business (2004).
Her work explores topics such as strategic parental behavior in school choice, the impact of ballot options on voting outcomes, and the economic valuation of cultural heritage. She has collaborated with institutions like the Centre for the Study of Choice (UTS) and Macquarie University, and her research has been published in leading journals including Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization and Management Science.
Current projects include analyzing the effects of Vienna’s 2019 school reform, studying social preferences among the elderly, and examining the long-term impact of voting age changes in Austria. She has advised projects involving policy consulting and brand management in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.
