Anita Sinha is Professor of Law and Director of the International Human Rights Law Clinic at American University Washington College of Law. She specializes in critical migration studies, migrant detention, and international refugee law.
Her research examines systemic issues in immigration enforcement, migrant rights, and human rights protections. Recent publications focus on migration deterrence, family separation policies, and protection gaps for displaced persons.
Awards include the 2020 AALS M. Shanara award for social justice commitment and CLEA honorable mention for public interest work. She supervises law students representing migrants before US immigration courts and international human rights bodies.
