Professor Anindya Banerjee is a leading academic in econometrics, currently serving as Head of the Department of Economics at Birmingham Business School, University of Birmingham. He joined the institution in 2008, following prior roles at the European University Institute and Wadham College, Oxford. His academic journey includes a D.Phil. from the University of Oxford.
- Education: BSc (Economics) from London School of Economics (1983), M.Phil. (Economics) from Nuffield College, Oxford (1985), D.Phil. (Economics) from Nuffield College, Oxford (1987)
His research focuses on time series econometrics, factor models, and integrated panel data, with recent interdisciplinary work applying econometric methods to law enforcement challenges. His publications demonstrate expertise in cointegration testing, structural break analysis, and nonlinear time series models.
