Anil Gupta

Anil Gupta is the Alan Ross Anderson Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at the University of Pittsburgh, where he is also Professor of History and Philosophy of Science and a Fellow of the Center for Philosophy of Science. He has been a faculty member in the Department of Philosophy since 2001, following academic appointments at Indiana University, the University of Illinois at Chicago, and McGill University.

His primary research lies in logic, philosophy of language, metaphysics, and epistemology. Gupta is especially known for his work on truth, meaning, definitions, and perception.
