Prof. Aniko Ekárt is a Professor of Applied AI & Robotics at Aston University and Director of Research Degree Programmes in the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences. She holds a PhD in Informatics from Eötvös Loránd University (2001).
Research interests: Her work encompasses computational intelligence techniques including genetic programming, evolutionary computation, evolutionary art, and applications in data mining for health and engineering domains. Recent work explores social learning and trust in AI systems.
Teaching: Leads modules on Computational Intelligence and Research Methods at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Awards: Recipient of best paper and best poster honors in 2018.
