Angie Abdel Zaher

Angie Abdel Zaher serves as an Associate Professor in the Youssef Nabih Department of Accounting at The American University in Cairo (AUC), a position held since 2009. Her 15-year corporate career at multinational firms including KPMG, 3M, DaimlerChrysler, Toyota Tsusho, and Johnson & Johnson provides distinctive industry expertise that informs her academic work across U.S. and Egyptian markets.

Her educational qualifications include:

• PhD in Accounting from Florida International University (2009)

Professor Abdel Zaher's research critically examines intersections between governance frameworks and organizational outcomes through lenses of Auditing practices, Corporate Governance mechanisms, Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, and Firm Performance metrics. Her methodological approach integrates real-world corporate experience with academic rigor, particularly investigating how governance structures influence financial accountability and sustainable business practices in emerging economies. This work appears in specialized journals including the International Journal of Corporate Governance and Journal of Accounting and Finance.

She actively contributes to scholarly discourse through memberships in the American and European Accounting Associations, while implementing innovative pedagogical techniques like the DSRP framework and visual learning methods to develop students' critical analysis capabilities in complex accounting scenarios.
