Angharad James is Lecturer in Law at Aberystwyth Law School specializing in commercial law, secured transactions, and corporate insolvency frameworks. Her doctoral research provided critical analysis of retention of title clauses under English law, identifying conceptual and practical challenges in enforcement.
Current scholarship examines corporate restructuring mechanisms under the Insolvency Act 1986 and Corporate Insolvency and Governance Act 2020, with focus on statutory moratoria effects on stakeholder rights. Recent publications analyze pre-incorporation strategies for insolvency prevention and monitor roles in restructuring processes.
As Director of Learning and Teaching, James coordinates Welsh-medium legal education initiatives and advocates for Welsh language accessibility in legal training. Recognition includes 2024 shortlisting for the Society of Legal Scholars Best Paper Prize.
