Angelica Michelis is a Senior Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University specializing in interdisciplinary literary studies. She teaches courses spanning Gender Studies, Gothic fiction, nineteenth-century literature, psychoanalytic theory, contemporary poetry, crime fiction, and food in literature. She holds MA and PhD degrees in English and American Literature, History of Art, and Modern History, and is bilingual in German and English.
Her research examines nineteenth-century literature and culture, Gothic traditions, contemporary poetry, psychoanalytic criticism, critical theory, and food/eating in cultural and literary contexts. She currently supervises PhD projects on poetry, creative writing, and representations of the femme fatale in Victorian literature.
