Professor Angela Smith researches language and cultural studies at Sunderland University, focusing on gender representation in media. Co-editor of the Bloomsbury Library of Gender in Popular Culture and convenor of the Ross Priory Broadcast Talk Seminar Group.
Leads the 'Rebel Women of Sunderland' project documenting local feminist history. Teaches critical discourse analysis and creative writing.
