Dr. Angela Sherwood, Lecturer in Law at Queen Mary University of London's School of Law, specializes in state violence, migration governance, and environmental harm. With a PhD from Queen Mary and MSc from Oxford, her work bridges criminology and law, focusing on humanitarian crimes and forced displacement.

Her research examines state crime, borders, and climate-related migration. She has published extensively on post-disaster displacement, IOM accountability, and forced evictions. Recent work explores intersections between humanitarianism and criminology.
Angela previously led ESRC and ERC funded projects on refugee mobility and humanitarian crime. She has collaborated with Amnesty International and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), conducting fieldwork in Haiti, Philippines, and multiple global locations.
