Angela Glading, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at the University of Rochester Medical Center in the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology. Her research focuses on cell adhesion signaling in vascular biology, particularly the role of the KRIT1 protein in maintaining endothelial junctions and its implications in Cerebral Cavernous Malformations (CCM) and cancer.
Research Interests:
- KRIT1 function in endothelial cell-cell contact
- Redox signaling in vascular disease
- Inflammatory-angiogenesis crosstalk
- Protein-protein interactions in barrier function
- CCM pathogenesis and therapeutic targets
- Signal transduction in vascular integrity
Scientific Awards:
- The Takashi Murachi Young Investigator Award (2001)
Publications highlight her work on KRIT1's role in Rap1 signaling, VEGF pathway modulation, and oxidative stress in CCM. Her lab employs transgenic models, intravital microscopy, and biochemical assays to address these questions.
