Dr. Angela Antonou is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at the University of St. Francis since 2014. She specializes in Table Algebras and actively promotes mathematics education through community engagement. Her roles include serving on the ISMAA board (2018–2021) and the Faculty Advisory Council for the Illinois Board of Higher Education.
Education:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering (with minor in Computer Science), University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
- M.S. and Ph.D. in Mathematics, Northern Illinois University
Her research focuses on fostering mathematical confidence in diverse audiences. She has published five interdisciplinary articles and mentored twelve undergraduate researchers, two of whom won awards. She designs math enrichment programs, including activities for the Southwest Chicago Math Teachers’ Circle and four middle/high school math camps.
Awardee of the 2020 ISMAA Early Career Teaching Award, her contributions bridge academia and community, emphasizing accessible mathematics education.
