Angélica Monteiro is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences, University of Porto, and a researcher at the Center for Educational Research and Intervention (CIIE). She holds a Ph.D. in Education Sciences from the University of Porto, a Master in Multimedia Education, and a Pedagogy degree from the State University of Rio de Janeiro. Her work spans teaching, research, and institutional leadership, including serving as head of a Higher Education School (2017–2018) and co-representing CIIE’s strategic focus on digital education and inclusion.

Research Interests:
- Focus on digital education, e-learning, curriculum innovation, and digital inclusion.
- Explores technology’s role in education equity, youth empowerment, and sustainable development.
- Examines digital literacy challenges in vulnerable populations, including prisoners and marginalized youth.
Projects & Leadership:
- Principal investigator of the DICEs project (2021) on digital citizenship education for minority youth.
- Lead the UP2B project (2019–2022), fostering student motivation and European citizenship.
- Member of international networks like the European Education Policy Network and COST Action GRADE.
- Conducts research on prison education, school governance, and teacher professional development.
Grants & Collaborations:
- Secured €497k+ in EU funding for projects like BE PART and eSGarden.
- Partnerships with institutions across Europe, including universities, NGOs, and governmental bodies.
