Angélica Cocomá is a Ph.D. Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology, affiliated with the International Max Planck Research School Global Multiplicity and the Max Planck Fellow Group Just Migration led by Prof. Dr. Anuscheh Farahat. Her research focuses on the intersection of international human rights law, economic and social rights, gender, and migration dynamics in Europe and Latin America.
- LLB in Law and Bachelor’s in Philosophy from Universidad de los Andes, Colombia
- LLM in Legal Theory (with distinction) from the London School of Economics and Political Science
Previously, she worked at the international human rights NGO Women’s Link Worldwide, representing victims of forced abortion, contraception, and migration-related violations in Colombia and the Inter-American System. Her current PhD research examines how EU and domestic labor migration laws empower highly-skilled migrant women from the Global South in mobility and employer negotiations.
