Anette Sams Nielsen

Anette Sams Nielsen serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen, specializing in Translational and Clinical Pharmacology. Her research bridges molecular mechanisms with clinical applications through rigorous experimental models.

Her primary research focuses on Calcitonin Gene-Related Peptide (CGRP) across multiple physiological systems. She investigates CGRP's antiviral properties against SARS-CoV-2 in respiratory epithelium, its role in vascular regulation across coronary/cerebral/mesenteric beds using minipig models, and therapeutic potential for myocardial perfusion recovery.
