Anette Lundin serves as a Senior Lecturer in Social Psychology at the School of Health Sciences, University of Skövde. Dr. Lundin defines social psychology as 'the scientific study of mutual social influence,' examining how individual and group attitudes and behaviors are shaped through interaction with others and how this relates to societal development. Her research focuses on:
- The experiences and decision-making processes of care professionals working with elderly populations
- Well-being and existential aspects of elderly care
- Stigma reduction around mental health issues
- Social interactions within residential care settings
- Prioritization challenges in resource-limited care environments
- Phenomenological approaches to understanding care relationships
Dr. Lundin's publications reveal a consistent methodological approach using qualitative research to explore complex care dynamics. Her work demonstrates particular expertise in phenomenological and narrative methodologies to investigate the subjective experiences of both care professionals and elderly residents. A notable pattern across her research is examining how care workers navigate conflicting organizational demands while maintaining quality care and professional integrity.
She is currently leading two significant research initiatives:
- Ambassadors as a tool to reduce stigma around mental health among young people (June 2024-June 2026): This project investigates the motivations and experiences of young ambassadors who deliver mental health education in middle and high schools through Hjärnkoll, a national organization dedicated to increasing knowledge about and reducing stigma surrounding mental health.
- Digital HEAlth Research (DHEAR): A collaborative research initiative focused on digital approaches to health research and care delivery.
Dr. Lundin's doctoral thesis from 2017, 'Rättfärdigade prioriteringar,' established her expertise in analyzing how care staff handle conflicting operational logics in elderly care settings, a theme that continues to inform her current research directions.
