Aneta Mikulasova

Aneta Mikulasova is a Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh's Institute of Genetics and Cancer, specializing in (epi)genomic instability in multiple myeloma. Her work investigates large-scale structural variants in heterochromatic regions using advanced genomic technologies and computational methods to understand disease progression and treatment resistance.

Her research spans genomic instability, structural variation, chromatin architecture, 3D genome organisation, and epigenomic regulation with direct focus on multiple myeloma, smouldering myeloma, and monoclonal gammopathies. She examines how DNA rearrangements near centromeres disrupt gene regulation in plasma cell disorders, employing multi-omics integration to decode cancer heterogeneity.

Analysis of her 2016-2022 publications reveals consistent investigation of genomic landscapes in myeloma progression, structural variant mechanisms like microhomology-mediated end joining, and epigenomic translocations affecting oncogenes. Her work bridges chromatin architecture defects with clinical manifestations in haematological malignancies.
