Andy Vail is a Clinical Professor of Biostatistics at the University of Manchester, affiliated with the Centre for Biostatistics in the School of Health Sciences. He contributes to the NIHR Research Support Unit, NIHR Statistics Group, and the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. His work spans clinical neuroscience, stroke research, and methodological advancements in meta-analysis of subfertility trials. He collaborates with Salford Royal Hospital and advises the UK Human Fertilisation & Embryology Authority (HFEA).
Education: BSc in Pure Mathematics & Mathematical Statistics (University of Exeter, 1988); MSc in Medical Statistics & IT (University of Leicester, 1989). Key roles include Statistical Editor of the Cochrane Gynaecology and Fertility Review Group and Associate Editor for Reproduction.
Research focuses on stroke intervention studies, systemic sclerosis, and fertility treatments.
