Andy Miller is an Associate Lecturer and Coordinator of the technologies stream of the Bachelor of Interior Design (Honours) at RMIT University's School of Architecture and Urban Design. He teaches in the Interior Design program at RMIT's City Campus in Australia.
His research explores the nexus between materials, technologies and spatial design, with particular focus on how traditional crafting techniques of glassmaking and ceramics merge with digital technologies. His expertise spans digital fabrication methods, computational design approaches, and material innovation within spatial contexts.
Miller has substantial industry experience, having worked as a research associate to Professor Mark Burry at RMIT's Spatial Information Architecture Laboratory (SIAL) from 2008-2015. During this period, he contributed to significant projects including Dermoid (an experimental digitally fabricated pavilion), design research at Basílica de la Sagrada Família in Barcelona, Spain, and co-authored book publications such as 'Prototyping for Architects', 'The New Mathematics of Architecture' and 'Scripting Cultures'.
