Andy Lee is a Professor and Associate Chair (Research) at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus, with a cross-appointment as an Adjunct Scientist at the Rotman Research Institute. His work focuses on the medial temporal lobe's role in memory, perception, and conflict processing using techniques like functional neuroimaging and eye-tracking.
- University of Oxford (B.A., Psychology, Physiology, Philosophy)
- University of Cambridge (Ph.D., Experimental Psychology)
- Royal Society Relocation Fellow (2006)
- Wellcome Trust Fellow (2008)
His research explores how brain structures like the medial temporal lobe support memory encoding/retreival and perceptual conflict resolution. Current projects involve functional neuroimaging, patient neuropsychology, and eye-tracking studies.
Scientific awards include:
- Royal Society Relocation Fellowship
- Wellcome Trust Research Career Development Fellow
Lee leads the MTL Research Lab at UTSC, mentoring postdoctoral researchers, graduate students, and undergraduate students in cognitive neuroscience studies. The lab's recent publications appear in journals like PLoS Biology and Cognition.
