Education:
- PhD in Geosciences and Natural Resource Management, University of Copenhagen, Denmark
- MSc in Biology/Ecology, University of Copenhagen, Denmark
- BSc in Environmental Biology, Roskilde University Centre, Denmark

His research centers on insect biodiversity and insect-plant community interactions, with applied focus on biological control for integrated pest management in plantation forests. He investigates ecosystem services including pest suppression and pollination, invasion ecology, entomopathogenic fungi, and urban biodiversity enhancement through green infrastructure. Current work emphasizes risk assessment of biological control agents and landscape architecture applications.
Dr. Howe actively engages in science outreach through school visits and citizen science initiatives including Insect Investigators, CSIRO STEM Professionals in Schools, and Kids in Action to inspire future entomologists. Based at the Ecosciences Precinct in Dutton Park, he continues research initiated during prior work at the University of Copenhagen.
