Andy Hong is an Assistant Professor at the University of Utah's Department of City & Metropolitan Planning. He also serves as a PEAK Urban researcher at the University of Oxford and an honorary senior fellow at the George Institute for Global Health. As director of the Healthy Aging and Resilient Places (HARP) Lab, Hong explores the intersection of urban design, transportation systems, and population health outcomes.

His research spans several domains:

- Environmental Exposure - Investigating air pollution exposure across transportation modes and urban settings
- Planetary Health - Through bibliometric analysis of interdisciplinary sustainability frameworks
- Smart City Applications - Using machine learning and IoT sensor data for environmental monitoring
