معرفی
Andy Graydon serves as Adjunct Faculty at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD), where he explores natural and social ecologies through sound, film, and narrative practices. Originally from Maui, Hawai'i, his interdisciplinary work interrogates ecological systems and scientific storytelling via artistic frameworks.
His research centers on environmental art and sound-based creative methodologies, integrating musical structures like ensembles, scores, and vocal techniques to examine island ecologies and science-art intersections. Projects frequently employ improvisation and variation to challenge conventional ecological narratives.
Graydon's accolades include:
- McKnight Foundation Fellowship in Media Arts
- MacDowell Fellowship
- National Endowment for the Arts Grants for Arts Projects
- Film Study Center at Harvard Fellowship
- NKD Nordic Artists' Center Residency
- Headlands Center for the Arts Residency
His artistic practice spans global exhibitions at the New Museum, Mass MoCA, Berlinische Galerie, and Honolulu Biennial, with screenings at Fulcrum Festival, Flaherty Seminar, WRO Media Arts Biennial, and Chicago Underground Film Festival. These presentations demonstrate sustained engagement with ecological themes through film and sound installations.
