Andrés Shahidinejad is an Assistant Professor of Economics in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities and holds a joint appointment as an Assistant Professor of Finance in the D’Amore McKim School of Business at Northeastern University. His research focuses on household and consumer finance, including the role of nonprofit banks in credit markets, data-sharing among lenders, and access to banking services. He earned a BA in Economics from Brandeis University and a Ph.D. in Economics and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Research Interests: Household Finance, Banking, Nonprofit Organizations, Public Economics. His work explores how nonprofit institutions like credit unions influence lending practices and financial access, alongside the impact of data-sharing agreements on market transparency.
Key Publications: He has published on topics such as nonprofit competition in lending markets and information sharing in consumer credit markets. His research has been presented at leading institutions including the NBER, Federal Reserve Banks, and the European Finance Association.
