Andrés Lucero is an Associate Professor of Interaction Design at Aalto University since 2017, following roles at the University of Southern Denmark and Nokia as Senior Researcher. His research focuses on designing and evaluating novel interaction techniques for mobile devices and interactive surfaces, emphasizing human-computer interaction, design, and play.
He holds a Professional Doctorate in Engineering (PDEng) in User-System Interaction from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and a PhD in Human-Computer Interaction from TU/e. His work bridges academia and industry, with notable projects in user-centered design and healthcare technology in the Global South.
Lucero’s research explores themes like AI in collaborative ideation, wearable technology adoption, and technology-mediated devotion. He has published extensively in top venues like CHI and DIS, addressing topics such as human-AI workflows and culturally sensitive health data representation. His courses include Interaction Design - User Interfaces, emphasizing practical design principles.
