André Sulen

André Sulen is a Researcher and Head of the Core Facility for Flow Cytometry at Clinical Institute 2, Faculty of Medicine, University of Bergen (UiB). He is actively engaged in both research and teaching, coordinating and teaching courses in immunology (HUIMM320) and flow cytometry (HUIMM307). His work is closely affiliated with Haukeland University Hospital, where he contributes to clinical and translational research.

His research focuses on understanding autoimmune diseases and endocrine disorders through advanced cellular and molecular techniques. He specializes in flow cytometry and single-cell analysis to investigate immune cell behavior, signaling pathways, and responses to environmental and pharmacological stimuli. His work spans autoimmune conditions like APS-1 and Addison’s disease, as well as hematological malignancies such as acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

The recent publications highlight a strong trend in single-cell technologies, immune signaling (particularly p38 and p53 pathways), and the application of cytometry in both autoimmune and oncological contexts. His work increasingly integrates translational approaches, bridging clinical observations with molecular mechanisms.

He has contributed to multiple collaborative research projects, including translational models in myeloid neoplasia and novel therapeutics for hematological malignancies.
