Dr. André Joubert serves as a PhD Researcher at Utrecht University's Institute for Risk Assessment Sciences (IRAS), operating within the Department of Population Health Sciences under the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. His institutional email is ajjoubert@uu.nl.
His research focuses on pharmaceutical processes, pharmacology, analytical chemistry, and biopharmaceutics, with particular emphasis on veterinary drug development and risk assessment modeling. Key expertise includes antiviral formulation design and physiologically based kinetic modeling for veterinary applications.
Current projects include:
- Development of Antiviral Formulations for Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) (2025): Investigating inter- and intra-individual drug absorption variability to optimize dosing strategies for cats.
- TK Plate 2.0 (2022-2025): Extending the EFSA TK-Plate platform to model chemical mixtures and biological stressors in food-producing animals using machine learning and allometric scaling.
As project executor, he collaborates with Prof. Ronette Gehring and other veterinary pharmacologists on EU-funded and institutionally supported research. His work integrates toxicokinetic-toxicodynamic modeling with clinical veterinary applications to improve drug safety and efficacy assessments.
