André Freitas is a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Manchester, where he leads the Reasoning & Explainable AI Lab. He also serves as a research group leader at the Idiap Research Institute and as the AI group leader at the digital Experimental Cancer Medicine Team (CancerResearchUK). His work bridges academic research with practical applications in healthcare and industry.
Dr. Freitas's research focuses on developing AI methods that support abstract, explainable, and flexible inference.
