André Eckardt

André Eckardt is a Full Professor at Technische Universität Berlin, leading the Quantum Many-Body Dynamics research group at the Institute of Theoretical Physics within Faculty II - Mathematics and Natural Sciences. He has held this position since 2020 and serves as Principal Investigator for the DFG Research Unit FOR 2414 project on 'Ultracold Atoms in Dynamically Created Gauge Fields'. Previously, he was Group Leader at the Max-Planck-Institut für Physik komplexer Systeme (2011-2020) and held postdoctoral positions at ICFO-The Institute of Photonic Sciences and Universität Oldenburg.

His research focuses on quantum dynamics in driven systems, including:

• Floquet engineering of topological phases in ultracold atoms
• Non-equilibrium phenomena in many-body systems
• Quantum simulation of synthetic gauge fields
• Driven-dissipative photonic systems
• Prethermalization and many-body localization

Analysis of his 15 most recent publications (2018-2020) reveals dominant themes in Floquet-engineered topological matter (43%), quantum measurement techniques (21%), driven-dissipative systems (21%), and many-body localization (15%). His work consistently bridges theoretical frameworks with experimental realizations in ultracold atom platforms.
