Manel Bosch Aguilera is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the hybrid optomechanics experiment group led by Prof. Philipp Treutlein at the University of Basel's Department of Physics, part of the Quantum Optics Lab. He holds a PhD in Physics from Laboratoire Kastler Brossel, Sorbonne Université (2019), a Master's in Photonics from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (2014), and a Bachelor's in Physics from Universitat de Barcelona (2013).
His research focuses on quantum optomechanics, hybrid atom-optomechanical systems, and ultracold atomic gases. Key areas include exploring coherence in optically-driven quantum systems, optomechanical cooling, and many-body dynamics. His work bridges fundamental quantum physics with applications in quantum technology, such as quantum memories and sensors.
Notable contributions include studies on squeezing light with quantum interfaces, coherent feedback cooling of mechanical oscillators, and analyzing decoherence in dissipative many-body systems. His publications span prestigious journals like Physical Review X, Nature Physics, and Physical Review Letters, reflecting his expertise in quantum systems' interdisciplinary applications.
Manel has contributed to teaching at the University of Basel, instructing courses like Physik IV and Quantum Optics I. His research aligns with the Treutlein group's goals in quantum metrology, entanglement, and hybrid quantum systems.
