André Dias is a Professor at the School of Engineering (ISEP), Porto Polytechnic Institute (IPP), and Senior Researcher at INESC TEC's Robotics and Autonomous Systems group. Born in Porto, Portugal in 1980, he holds a Licenciatura in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (ISEP, 2004), a Master's in Electronics and Computers Engineering (IST, Lisbon, 2008), and a PhD in the same field (IST, 2015). His research focuses on robotics, autonomous systems, and underwater technologies. He contributes to international projects like FP7 and H2020, and has supervised numerous theses in robotics and autonomous systems. His work integrates AI, UAVs, and environmental applications, addressing challenges in seafloor exploration, pollution mitigation, and renewable energy inspection.
