Andrzej Miszczuk

Prof. Dr. hab. Andrzej Miszczuk is a Professor at the Faculty of Economics, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS), and serves as Director of the Institute of Economics and Finance and Head of the Department of Economic and Regional Policy. His career spans institutions including the Faculty of Political Science at UMCS (1990-2007), University of Entrepreneurship and Administration in Lublin (1999-2009), and Centre for European Regional and Local Studies EUROREG UW (2006-2019). He holds habilitations in Earth Sciences (2015) and has contributed extensively to cross-border cooperation and regional development.

Research Interests focus on economic geography, regional policy, and cross-border cooperation, with particular emphasis on Polish-Ukrainian-Belarusian borderlands. His work analyzes EU cohesion policy, tourism competitiveness, and social economy in transitional regions. Recent projects explore climate change adaptation and green economic transformation in local governance contexts.

Scientific Output includes monographs like The EU's New Borderland (2017) and Zielona transformacja gospodarki i finansów samorządowych (2023), alongside 15 recent articles addressing border region typologies, SDG financing, and regional climate competitiveness. His publications span journals such as Barometr Regionalny, Energies, and Europa XXI, reflecting interdisciplinary engagement with economics, geography, and policy analysis.
