Dr. Andrzej Jakubowski is a Lecturer in the Department of Socio-Economic Geography within the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Spatial Management at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Poland. His office is located in room 116B, and he holds consultations on Fridays from 12:00-14:00.
Dr. Jakubowski specializes in regional and local development, with particular expertise in peripheral areas, cross-border regions, cross-border cooperation, and demography. His research examines the complex dynamics of border regions within the European Union context, with special focus on Polish borderlands including relationships with Ukraine, Lithuania, and Belarus.
His recent scholarly output demonstrates a strong focus on cross-border functional areas, territorial cohesion, and the impact of EU policies on border regions. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with empirical analysis of specific border contexts, particularly in Eastern Europe.
