Andris Piebalgs is an academic affiliated with Imperial College London's Department of Chemical Engineering. He served as a Research Associate from June to September 2017. He holds a PhD (2013–2017) and an MEng (2009–2013) in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London. His research focuses on enhancing thrombolytic therapy using nanoparticles, modeling fluid mechanics and mass transport in blood clots, and exploring ultrasound applications for thrombosis treatment. He was awarded the EPSRC Doctoral Training Award and Perry’s Student Book Prize.
- Education:
- PhD in Chemical Engineering, Imperial College London (2013–2017)
- MEng in Chemical Engineering, Imperial College London (2009–2013)
Research interests include developing multi-physics models for thermosensitive liposomal drug delivery activated by focused ultrasound, supervised by Prof. Xiao Yun Xu. He has volunteered as a mentor at Team Up since 2011. His work bridges biofluid dynamics, nanotechnology, and medical applications.
