Dr. Andrine Shufran is an Associate Extension Specialist and Director of the Insect Adventure at Oklahoma State University's Department of Entomology & Plant Pathology. She has been with the department since 2003 and holds a Ph.D. in Entomology from OSU (2008). Her role involves managing the Insect Adventure facility, supervising student entomologists, and conducting educational outreach programs across Oklahoma. She has received awards including the Dean's Award for Excellence (2000) and Distinguished Departmental Alumnus (2013).
Dr. Shufran earned her B.S. in Horticulture and Entomology from Texas A&M University (1998), followed by an M.S. in Agricultural Biology from New Mexico State University (2002), and a Ph.D. in Entomology from Oklahoma State University (2008).
Her research focuses on entomology, conservation biology, and public education about insects. Key areas include the American burying beetle's conservation, arthropod husbandry, and addressing misconceptions through outreach. She also investigates pest management in agricultural settings, such as pecan storage facilities.

Shufran oversees student entomologists and teaches courses like Entomology Capstone and Outreach Education in K-12, emphasizing practical research and extension experiences.
