Andrey D. Andreev is a Research Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of New Mexico (UNM). His career spans academic and industrial roles in high-power microwave technology and plasma physics. He holds a Diploma in Physics (Plasma Physics) from Tomsk State University (1990) and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (Applied Electromagnetics) from UNM (2007).
Research Focus: Specializes in relativistic and conventional microwave devices, system engineering of electromagnetic systems, and plasma physics applications. Active in directed energy systems development for defense and aerospace applications.
Professional History: Postdoctoral researcher at Air Force Research Lab (2008–2011), Senior High-Power Microwave Physicist at Raytheon Ktech (2011–2016), and consultant roles with Booz Allen Hamilton and Confluent Sciences. Maintains affiliations with IEEE, APS, DEPS, and other technical societies.
