معرفی
Dr. Andrew Yool is a research scientist at the Marine Systems Modelling group of the National Oceanography Centre, Southampton. His work focuses on marine biogeochemical cycles and plankton ecosystem modeling, with significant contributions to understanding oceanic nitrogen and carbon cycles.
- Developed the MEDUSA biogeochemical model within UKESM1
- Extensive publication record on ocean biogeochemistry (over 40 papers)
- Former committee member of NERC’s Ocean Acidification Programme and NOC Awards Committee
His research interests span multiple interconnected domains of ocean science:
- Global and regional marine biogeochemical modeling
- Plankton ecosystem dynamics and biological pump efficiency
- Nitrate regeneration and surface nitrification processes
- Impacts of climate change and geoengineering on ocean systems
- Deep-sea ecosystem modeling and biomass projections
Article analysis reveals a strong focus on ocean-climate interactions across diverse marine environments, with particular attention to nutrient cycling and ecosystem responses to environmental change. Key methodologies include global biogeochemical models, isotope analysis, and process-oriented simulations of marine systems.
