Dr Andrew Wroe is a Senior Lecturer in American Politics and Director of Admissions at the University of Kent's School of Politics and International Relations. He joined the institution in 2003 and specializes in research on the American presidency, political trust, and societal polarization. His recent work focuses on the presidency of Donald J. Trump, as evidenced in his 2019 book The Ordinary Presidency of Donald J. Trump. He chairs the Political Studies Association American Politics Group and supervises research on American domestic politics and empirically rigorous methodologies.

- Decline of political trust and its societal effects
- Moral and social polarization in the U.S.
- Presidential governance and policy-making
Teaching includes undergraduate courses on U.S. politics and postgraduate research design. His publications span academic journals and edited volumes, addressing topics such as immigration policy, partisan polarization, and cultural conflict. Current advisees explore themes like political legitimacy, hate crime, and political blame dynamics.
