Andrew Wolfe is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Hunter College, City University of New York (CUNY), with an adjunct appointment in the Department of Pharmacology at Weill Cornell Medicine. He is faculty in the CUNY Graduate Center Biochemistry PhD Program and Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology PhD Subprogram.
His research focuses on:
- Understanding oncogene-driven tumor reprogramming in cancer recurrence
- RNA biology and its role in cell proliferation
- Therapeutic resistance in pancreatic, lung, and colorectal cancers
- Metabolic pathway exploitation for cancer treatment
The Wolfe lab utilizes advanced techniques including CRISPR, flow cytometry, large-scale screening, and cancer models to explore these areas.
Scientific awards:
- Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation Postdoctoral Award
His publications address key challenges in cancer biology, including KRAS inhibition, RNA G-quadruplex targeting, and metabolic vulnerabilities like UGP2. Research trends emphasize translating molecular insights into therapeutic strategies for oncogene-dependent cancers.
