Andrew Stuart is an Associate Professor and Assistant Chair in the Department of Accounting & Business Law at Suffolk University, where he has taught since 2017. He holds a PhD in Accountancy from Bentley University, an MBA from the University of New Hampshire, and a BA from Gordon College. A Certified Public Accountant since 2004, his career includes twelve years in professional accounting and finance roles, including auditing at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the investment management sector.
Dr. Stuart's research focuses on corporate disclosures, particularly voluntary sustainability disclosures and their assurance. His work explores how ethical culture and assurance impact investor and stakeholder judgments, especially in challenging economic conditions. He has received the 2018-2019 Glen McLaughlin Prize for Research in Accounting Ethics.
His publications address CSR disclosures, XBRL regulatory choices, pandemic impacts on graduates, and inclusive internship programs. He teaches courses such as Graduate Financial Accounting and Accounting Theory, emphasizing practical application of accounting principles.
